Bikini Waxing Styles - Types
If you’ve never had a wax
before then you might be surprised by the high number of
styles that are available! There are many different bikini
waxing styles commonly used today, ranging from the simple
to the complex. For first time wax users the regular
American wax is probably the best option but what if you
want to go for something more interesting? Here are some
other waxing styles you might consider along with
information on how to choose.
Firstly, you need to think about which type of clothes
you’ll be wearing. If you regularly wear small and revealing
bikinis then something like a French wax may be best. This
particular wax style removes nearly all the hair apart from
a small amount to the centre and above. In contrast, the
Full Brazilian removes all the hair in the pubic region both
at the front and back!
Another type of bikini wax style you may consider is “the
triangle”. As the name suggests, this style removes all the
hair apart from a small triangle at the top of the pubic
region. Usually this area of hair is trimmed to be very
short. An alternative to “the triangle” is “the heart” where
a heart shaped area of hair remains. Many women decide to
dye this area of hair a certain color – often pink.
Other types of bikini waxing styles include the moustache,
the lightning bolt, the diamond and the star. The names for
these refer to the shape of hair that’s left after the
treatment. The more complex a waxing style is the greater
the need for a professional to perform the treatment for
safety and aesthetic reasons.
Aside from choosing between the many bikini waxing styles
you also need to think about which beauty salon to use.
Bikini waxing is a skill that needs to be learnt over time
so the more experienced the practitioner is the less painful
the treatment is likely to be. If you’ve never had a wax
treatment before then it’s often a good idea to ask the
beauty salon to trim your hair first to reduce pain. The
salon should also be able to provide you with tips to help
reduce the pain.
The effects of waxing usually last anywhere up to a month so
you need to be prepared to have a re-wax regularly. Although
the treatment is painful many women find that they get used
to it after a few sessions. It’s completely normal for the
region that’s been waxed to have an increased sensitivity
after the treatment so don’t be surprised if it’s tender for
a few days. For this reason it’s almost never a good idea to
have a wax treatment of any kind on the day of a special
event. This discomfort will decrease each time you have a
bikini wax though.
Although there is a certain level of standardization when it
comes to bikini waxing styles you should always check that
your beauty salon uses the same definitions that you do.
I wish you all the best on your
